Spring Trend Report

I can’t wait to sport the latest spring looks but it is difficult to think of warm weather and minimal layers in this cold weather. But spring 2010 collections have hit retailers’ racks and are in all major fashion magazines. Before breaking the bank, here is a crash course of the season’s trends from tribal prints to exposed lingerie to the classic white shirt.

Patterns and Prints:

Whether floral, striped, abstract, bold or subdued, patterns and prints are bringing us a whole range of new wardrobe options. You will find jackets, dresses, skirts, and pants in all sorts of prints and patterns. You will be mixing and matching from head to toe.

Delicate Sheer:

Want to bring the boudoir to the street? Bustier tops and lace slip minis are coming out of close doors. This trend can be either by worn soft and feminine in pastels or in black for an edgy look. This is the perfect look for the sex kitten.

Minimalism:

The minimalist look is tailored with architectural lines and soft drapery. Crisp white shirts and classic suits are key items. Mix leather, linen, and cotton in neutral tones to create a perfect look.

Sporty:

Sportswear has never looked so good until now. From body-con silhouettes to structured sweatshirts to printed shorts, you’ll be ready to lead the team. Football, skateboarding, and surfing have influenced designers to play up your love of the game.

And that my friends is your Spring Trend Report – any questions, advice, comments..feel free to drop them below!

Fall Fashion Must Haves!

My ladies, so here it is, the first day of fall. I’m not sure if im ready to make that transition into the cold. The season of cold, flu’s, more colds, chills, and then right into winter. Ahhh as I sit here, I’m already thinking of my wardrobe for the next couple of months. As a true fashionista I still need to do me, despite how cold it is out there, I will find a way to be warm, yet look like a million bucks. I expect the same of you ladies!

So here are a few my tips for the fall season.

-stick to some super bright and vibrant colors, (the loud colors make you feel warmer just by looking at them).

-the sweatshirt dress is huge this fall. American Apparel or H&M ladies, grab them while you can.

-long sleeved dresses, or tops, try to stay away from short sleeves.

– Tights, yes again with the look, but its back and great. (think warm) 😉

-Buy that ONE coat this fall that will make your date spot you a mile away. Bold and edgy styles are the way to go.

-Citizens of Humanity are a great pair of dark denim to invest in. Trust me, every bottom looks great in them.

pinkpetal-Jewelry, ladies accessorize with some bold pieces, go on and be daring; Pink Petals has some incredible innovative pieces for the fall.

-Karen Millen has some incredible dark and fun bags ladies. But do your shoulders a favor; don’t pack everything, including your kitchen sink in your bag. Make a little travelers kit and carry that instead.karen

-Oh shoes, oh shoes…let’s talk about shoes! PRADA has the nicest leather, everyday, knee length boot. It will work itself into any outfit. Embrace it.

prada So there you go ladies, my quick, one read, and easy fashion guide to the next 45 days of fall. Again any fashion advice you need, email me at theyoungandsassy@gmail.com I will be more then happy to lend some tips!

A Silent Hit…

As I traveled right into the motherland this summer…yes India…..Anyways I did some serious digging to see what/who was hot. I’m not going to pick favorites, but Ranna Gill did stick out. She’s like a gem everyone needs to own.Fashion

This woman has graced every magazine you can possibly think of with her designs, Elle, Vogue, W, InStyle, Femina, etc. She’s been showcased in the hottest cites for fashion. As I stepped into her boutique in Khan Market in Delhi, I realized she’s that typical understated designer. There was something for everyone. Each and every piece was unique, from indian wear right to the western wear. Gill is one of the few Indian designers to make her mark internationally. Her pieces are available at department stores like Neiman Marcus and Saks.

Gill started working on her line back in 1996, but before that she worked for Ralph Lauren in the women’s division. Working there gave her international feed on how the industry worked and what it was going to take to make her very own mark. She took all her skills and knowledge she practiced at the Fashion institute of Technology in New York and went straight home to create her very own Ameera, a boutique she now runs in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Her designs are worn by the most influential women across the world today. She also headlined the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week this year, where Deepika Padukone walked as the show stopper.

Anyways just wanted to shed some light on a really creative designer in India at the moment and if any one of you are interested in checking her out, I managed to find a tiny bit of her scheduled showcases for you. Enjoy!!!

Cartier – the great love affair

How far back do the tales of diamonds take us? As far as history is concerned, each time a diamond comes into a woman’s life, history is made. Around the world, different moments are created. Cartier, the world’s most import-diamondssignificant jewelry house, which was founded in 1847, creates such extreme love affairs for each of its clients. Cartier’s most exclusive jewels have been worn by extravagant women like Elizabeth Taylor, beauty princesses like Aishwarya Rai, powerful women like Sonia Gandhi, and divas like Eva Langoria.

The competitive man has also created some incredible platforms of jewels. In fact, Bhupinder Singh of Patiala marks history of owning the largest piece of jewelry in the world, a 235.65 carat yellow diamond necklace.

Cartier has gone on to making the best of jewelry, watches, and many luxury items. Along with creating some incredible pieces that are placed on the left hand, sealed with a promise. With its sparkle, Cartier has been able to capture the most priceless jewel, ones heart.

“a diamond is a woman’s best friend”…
